My name is Amoli. When my freedom was taken, my dreams were stolen. My self-esteem was crushed and I felt like I would never find a sense of self-worth again. Escape seemed impossible.
But today, here I am. I’m safe. I’m in school. I’m learning English. And I am truly excited about my future.
Amoli was one of millions of people around the world caught in a cycle of oppression, abuse, and poverty. They have been trafficked, orphaned, or at risk of being exploited with little or no access to education. Few find safe haven and their journey is dangerous and long.
OUR STORY
I Am Global Academy helps survivors of social oppression like Amoli break free, find their voice, and choose their future.
With one-on-one, online instruction, we provide the gift of reading, writing, and speaking English. Our worldwide volunteers and learners experience life change through the relationships they form with each other. We form ongoing relationships that help build students’ confidence and improve their English. These new skills give them the foundation to continue their education, move into viable careers, and contribute to their communities in meaningful ways.
